We engineer, coordinate, and build timber and steel assemblies, turning architectural vision into construction reality.
At Flat Rock, we specialize in working with a robust palette of materials—primarily wood and steel—with a focus on heavy timber, glulam, and mass timber systems.
These structural materials offer strength, beauty, and sustainability, and we know how to leverage their unique properties to meet the demands of complex builds. From precision steel fabrication to large-format engineered wood assemblies, we bring deep experience coordinating these materials into cohesive, high-performance structures.
Whether it’s a commercial build or a remote install, our team delivers reliable results.

We work for the project. Not the shop.
Most custom fabricators are optimizing for their own equipment and schedule. We’re different. As independent design-build coordinators, we match every project with the right fabrication partner from an extensive network throughout North America.
Digital precision
Everything is modeled in 3D before anything is cut. Complex assemblies are fully coordinated digitally, so components arrive on site ready to install, just as designed.
Kit-of-parts assembly
Every project is designed for logical, efficient installation, even in remote or constrained locations. The result is faster construction, fewer change orders, and crews that aren’t guessing.
Timber & steel expertise
Deep fluency across heavy timber, glulam, CLT, and structural steel. We understand how these materials behave together and how to achieve the results you are looking for.
Site installation
Our team brings the field experience to handle complex installations — tight access, crane coordination, trade sequencing, and the inevitable surprises real job sites bring. Because the work was precisely engineered and fabricated upstream, installation moves fast and goes together the way it was designed.

Working Coordination Tool
Conflicts between structural, architectural, and mechanical systems get resolved digitally, before they become field problems. Sequencing is worked out in advance. Building efficiencies are found early, when they're still easy to act on. By the time components leave the shop, the hard problems are already solved.

“Working with Flat Rock has been exceptional. The team is approachable and collaborative, delivering shop drawings and fabrication that exceeded our expectations. Flat Rock gave our install crews all the tools for a successful, worry-free installation. I look forward to many more projects together.”
